Reid Mills is a student at Rodger E. Sides School in Karnes City and we are proud that he is a dedicated volunteer with KCHO.  Reid says that he likes volunteering because 'it's a small thing that he can do to help'.  We feel very fortunate to have him and his parents come walk dogs in the evening once a week.  To us this young man makes a very 'BIG' difference in the lives of these animals.

He enjoys helping animals and his other interests include taking flying lessons from his grandfather, fishing/camping and internet gaming.  His favorite subject in school is history.

A BIG THANK YOU to Reid for being our volunteer of the month.

Shelbi Chance is a student at Karnes City Jr. High who has made a great contribution to our organization.  She recently went to her principle and asked if she could place a donation box along with a poster to ask for donations to support the animals at KCHO.  The response was tremendous and she was able to deliver a box of goodies which included dog and cat food, kitty litter, dog bones and treats.  We also want to thank those kids who donated these goods.  Many of these animals are in recovery from neglect and abuse and some require medical attention.  These donations help us focus our dollars into medical care which can be very expensive.
Shelbi also contributes her time by coming by our center and walking dogs and socializing with them.  These animals show their gratitude with wags and licks.

Thanks Shelbi, for being an inspiration to us all and giving voice to the voiceless.
