TAMMY LABUS

My journey I guess started when I was about to be an empty nester in 2011.  Long story short I was searching for a dog and ended up at the San Antonio control facility.  I found my dog but upon visiting and seeing ALL the dogs on death row disturbed me. 
Fast forward to 2014 and I see on the news what taken place at the animal control facility there and decided to pay a visit.  My daughter and I both adopted that weekend.
I began to follow the plight of our county’s unwanted, discarded pets.  First pet, Pheebie, I took was just supposed to be a transport to Austin, but due to a death in her foster’s family she stayed with me a couple of days.  In those couple of days I got attached and cried when I dropped her off.  Since then I have had Pedro, the “ringworm” pups and now Rowdy. Yes I get attached and I had the puppies so long I got extremely attached and bawled after dropping them off.  But when I see pics of each one’s fur-ever homes it just makes my heart smile!!!!

​Lucy's story is still unfolding.  The photographs show how these adorable creatures come to us and with the TLC she received from her foster mom a beautiful princess emerges.  This is one of the most rewarding aspects of fostering animals.  Without people like you who love and care about what happens to these animals KCHO would not be successful.  Won't you please sign up to foster today?
